These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Enchapter mobile application ("the app") and the website at enchapter.kids ("the site"). By using Enchapter, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or site.
1. Description of Service
Enchapter is an interactive reading app that presents public domain stories in a chat-style format with AI-generated illustrations. The app is designed for children and intended to be used under parental supervision.
2. Eligibility
Enchapter is intended for use by children under parental or guardian supervision. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian's permission to use the app. Parents and guardians are responsible for their child's use of Enchapter.
3. Account and Subscriptions
Enchapter offers free and premium subscription tiers. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
- Free tier: Browse the full catalog, add up to 3 books per month, 5 read-alouds per month, Draw & Trace tab, and 1 kid profile.
- Enchapter+ (Monthly): $3.99/month — unlimited reading, unlimited read-alouds, up to 5 kid profiles, and unlimited story creation.
- Enchapter+ (Annual): $24.99/year — same premium features at a reduced rate.
Prices are displayed in the app and on the site. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will not be affected by price changes during their current billing period.
4. Content
Public domain books
Enchapter uses texts from public domain sources including Project Gutenberg, Open Library, and Standard Ebooks. These texts are freely available and not owned by Enchapter.
AI-generated content
Story illustrations and chat-style adaptations are generated using artificial intelligence. While we strive for quality and age-appropriateness, AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies or unexpected results. We implement content safety measures but cannot guarantee perfection.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Attempt to circumvent subscription or access controls
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Redistribute or commercially exploit app content
6. Intellectual Property
The Enchapter name, logo, app design, and original code are the property of Seaynic Labs LLC. Public domain book texts remain in the public domain. AI-generated illustrations created within the app are provided for personal, non-commercial use.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Enchapter is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seaynic Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to loss of data or profits.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
